At Star Pilates and Fitness we host small group sessions dedicated to intense functional training to keep you motivated, engaged, informed and having fun doing it. Functional training helps provide you with strength, stability, power, mobility, endurance and flexibility that you need to thrive as you move through your life and sports. You use basic functional movement patterns like pushing, pulling, hinging, squatting, rotating, carrying, and gait patterns every day. Functional training utilizes exercises that improve your movement proficiency in these primary patterns to give you an edge and enhance your performance so you can achieve goals safely and with good health. Star Barre

This class is a one hour plan designed to deliver a balanced, total-body workout that you can do anytime, anywhere. All movements are low impact and designed to burn fat, build muscle and break through plateaus. It is a combination of several things: isometric holds, small movements within the hold and large dynamic movement. Isometric holds work your muscles to their deepest points and increase strength and endurance, as well as give you the time to find the perfect posture in the position for maximum benefit. Layering in the small movements, think one inch, creates relief in the muscles to maintain the integrity of the posture while heating the body, increasing core strength, and revving up the metabolism. After exhausting the muscles through these small movements and holds, we flush out the body with functional, large, dynamic moves which lifts the heart rate, improves circulation and mobility and energizes the body. 

Anyone can do this low impact sequence and see dramatic results. All ages and all fitness levels are welcome. We can work with injuries and even pregnancies. Barre classes can help anyone build strength, lose weight, and transform your entire body. 

SPIN

Star Spin

Invigorating music and choreographed cycling come together to make this spinning class super fun and totally effective. Regardless of how fit, flexible or coordinated you are, you'll get a great cardio vascular workout complimented with upper body strength training as well as constant core work. While there is lots of variety and some choreography in this spin class, the lights are out and the bikes are equipped with resistance knobs controlled by the rider- so you can really take this ride wherever YOU want to go. Be prepared to sweat and smile on this dance party ride.

Star 30 Spin

30 minutes of choreographed cycling. Class may infuse arm work into the mix, but there will be no weights to keep your arms ready for Star Barre straight after. 

Power Spin

This is a simulated road ride for 45 minutes. This format will take you on a ride that will alternate high cadence power pushes in the saddle and steady power pushes out of the saddle. HIIT Intervals will be included as well to ensure you push your lactic acid threshold and follow with a recovery to increase your endurance levels each class. 

HIIT Spin

30 minutes of high intensity interval cycle to jumpstart your day. This 30 minute spin class will alternate between high intensity of 30-90 seconds with an alternating rest of equal time. During the rest, your body will experience post -exercise oxygen recovery (EPOC) where your body will experience a large increase of oxygen intake that will replenish the deficiency you will experience during the intense intervals. As a result, you will be burning calories long after the workout is over!  

TRX

The TRX Suspension Trainer is the original, best-in-class workout system that leverages gravity and your bodyweight to perform hundreds of exercises. You're in control of how much you want to challenge yourself on each exercise,  because you can simply adjust your body position to add or decrease resistance. 

The TRX Suspension Trainer:

The TRX Suspension Trainer is used by trainers, athletes, and the US military. Come check it out! The class is led to fun music and allows each individual client to take their workout wherever they want to go. 

YOGA

Yoga is a practical aid, not a religion. It is an ancient art based on harmonizing system of development for the body, mind, and spirit. The continued practice of yoga will lead you to a sense of peace and well-being, and also a feeling of being at one with their environment. This is a simple definition.  The practice of yoga makes the body strong and flexible, it also improves the functioning of the respiratory, circulatory, digestive, and hormonal systems. Yoga will also bring about emotional stability and clarity of mind. Suitable for all ages, body types, and fitness levels- everyone can find something unique to them within the practice of yoga. 

YOGA burn

Combines classic yoga postures with dynamic strength training, creating a powerful mind-body workout. Traditional yoga movements are blended with fun props to enhance strength, mobility and balance. This will deepen your yoga practice and support your strength training needs. You'll find anything from small isometric movements to cardio bursts with weights. Lead with music. No previous yoga experience required. Just a willingness to sweat!

LES MILLS BODYPUMP is for anyone looking to get lean, toned and fit – fast.

Using light to moderate weights with lots of repetition, BODYPUMP gives you a total body workout. It will burn up to 590 calories*. Instructors will coach you through the scientifically proven moves and techniques pumping out encouragement, motivation and great music – helping you achieve much more than on your own! You’ll leave the class feeling challenged and motivated, ready to come back for more.

BODYPUMP is available as a either a 55, 45 or 30-minute workout

Ready SET Fit

Ready SET Fit is a 60 minute interval class consisting of alternating 3 minute strength and endurance exercises. Strength segments target specific muscle groups using body weight, bands and hand weights. Endurance segments build on previous strength exercise by utilizing low impact step moves and light hand weights. All drills are choreographed to the latest music trends that will keep you motivated, moving and wondering how it was over so quickly. Expected calorie burn between 500 and 650. 

PILATES MAT

Pilates is a system of controlled exercises that engage the mind and condition the total body. The blend of strength and flexibility training improves posture, reduces stress and creates long, lean muscles without bulking up. Pilates takes a balanced approach so that no muscle group is overworked and the body moves as an efficient, holistic system in sport and daily activity. 

Pilates Mat will certainly be a traditional pilates mat class, several repetitions of core strengthening exercises and isometric work for the whole body, but with an untraditional approach. Think music, rhythmic movement, various props, and eek...even sweating!   

REFORMER CLASSES

Group reformer classes allows students to work with the Reformer Apparatus without having to pay the fees for a private session. The Group Reformer class utilizes spring controlled resistance to build core strength, increase flexibility, endurance and coordination. At Star Pilates and Fitness we have Balanced Body equipment for optimal training. The result is a strong, yet flexible, well toned body, without muscle bulk. Reformer work is also great for injury treatment, posture correction and immobility. Reservations are suggested. Check for different levels suitable to your needs. 2 students per class minimum, 5 maximum. 24 hour cancellation policy is enforced. If using a prepaid monthly package- no cancellations are allowed.
